“You know, you really hit it over the top with this, Ryan. Not many people knew the real him, but you somehow got it. Our heartfelt thanks.” The Ryders
What’s Involved
Memorial Services and Celebration of Life Services not only honor those we love; they also provide closure. However, when the individual being honored did not attend a religious institution or when families want a service outside of a traditional venue, things can get complicated. As an experienced minister who honors all religions, I’d be honored to help you craft a meaningful Celebration of Life or memorial service in Atlanta or elsewhere in NW Georgia.
How it’s Done
For those planning their own service, or for families who wish to design the service themselves, a packet is provided that includes multiple options for each step of the ceremony. I then invite you to select those options that most resonate with you. Afterward, we meet to discuss your vision of the ceremony and your memories of the deceased.
For families who are emotionally distraught, I meet with them to determine their needs and desires, then craft the service for them. They contribute as much or as little as they are comfortable doing.
“Thank you. It was beautiful, and you really caught Trish’s spirit. I’m so glad we found you. I feel like it was meant to be.” Maria Ngotten

“This has honestly been the nicest memorial service I’ve ever been to!” Sue Tremont

The packet helps you select a memorial service that best reflects the person you are honoring. It also lifts a burden from your shoulders at a stressful time. That said, you can delete, add, and blend elements within it to your heart’s content. I want it to accurately reflect the person you’re honoring as well as authentically express your own emotions.
As indicated by the headings on this page, I’m not only an Atlanta Memorial Service officiant but also an Atlanta Celebration of Life officiant. While the first is more somber, they each honor the deceased with a full service.
My fee is $300 for the Celebration of Life service in Atlanta, although I add a modest distance fee for any location farther than 20 miles from my office in the NE quadrant of the Perimeter. I travel up to about an hour and a half outside of Atlanta.
“The memorial service was so beautiful! It was so much more than what I expected. I posted parts of it on Facebook and got great feedback. Having someone who understood what I was going through really meant a lot. Thanks for being such a great funeral officiant AND a great neighbor!” Rick Cartell
